New York – Earlier this month police arrested a Brooklyn man in connection with a fatal car accident that occurred in Harlem which killed a 46-year-old woman and injured others including a pedestrian and infant passengers. The Brooklyn man was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operator.
The accident occurred on Wednesday, February 6th, 2013 around 2 p.m. According to police, the 2003 Ford Focus was travelling southbound on Broadway, when the driver of the Focus tried to make a left turn onto 135th Street; it collided with the suspect's van.
The two vehicles were sent flying onto the sidewalk where a 44-year-old pedestrian was struck and injured. According to authorities, the front passenger of the Ford Focus was transported to Saint Luke's Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Ford Focus and the two rear passengers who were infants and the female pedestrian were also hospitalized, but fortunately their injuries were not life-threatening.
